Sports performance in Miami and Davie.

The training side starts here. Two questions get asked more than any others, so this answers them: who actually trains at Alkemē, and what happens the first time you walk in. Coaching is delivered by certified performance staff, not by clinicians, and a first session is a test rather than a workout.

01 Who trains here 01 / 06

Who trains here.

Youth and high school athletes are the largest group by a distance, and they set the tone of most afternoons. College athletes come home for the summer. Athletes from the NFL, NBA, MLB, NWSL, USTA, WTA and NCAA train here too, often in the same hour. Adults who compete at nothing in particular are the quiet remainder.

Age changes the work more than the level does. Youth sessions are mostly coordination, landing and learning to lift with somebody watching, which looks less like a weight room than parents expect. High school is where loading gets serious. Adults get the same logic on a different calendar, with fewer tryouts.

Parents usually arrive with a version of the same sentence: he’s strong in the weight room and slow on the field, and nobody has told us why.

02 First session 02 / 06

What a first session is.

An assessment, not a workout you have to survive. We talk about your sport and your calendar, watch you move, and take a baseline on the VALD force plates: force into the ground on each side, how quickly you produce it, and how far apart the two legs are.

You leave with numbers, a plan sketched against them, and an honest answer about whether you need a coach at all. Some people leave with two things to fix and a handshake, and that’s a fine outcome for everybody.

Skip the baseline and it never exists. Six months on, nobody can tell whether the training worked or the season simply went well.

“I’m a high school athlete and Alkemē Sports RX has the best sports performance training! Coach Chris and David are great. Their workouts are intense and fun. I feel like a better all around athlete playing my sport.”

04 Questions 04 / 06

Questions, answered plainly.

We program for youth athletes, and at that age the work is mostly coordination, landing mechanics and learning to lift with a coach watching. It looks less like a weight room than parents expect.

A conversation about your sport and your calendar, a movement screen, and a baseline on the VALD force plates. You leave knowing which side produces less and what a first block would train.

Certified performance coaches, credentialed in strength and conditioning or personal training. This is training, not clinical care. We work with a Doctor of Physical Therapy on the same floor when rehab is part of the picture.

Say so at the screen. We don’t train through pain, and we don’t have to send you elsewhere to sort it out. The rehab side is in the same building.

Come in and get a number to train against.

Put it in writing.

Five short questions. A real person calls you back, usually within two business hours, with times that fit your week.

The people who end up filling this out are rarely in the worst pain of their life. They’re just done working around it, done picking the errand that doesn’t require the stairs. If that’s the stage you’re at, this is the part where you stop researching and start.
