Senior Physical Therapist
Dr. Chris Thurston is a Sports Physical Therapist with a passion for helping athletes and active individuals move better, recover faster, and perform at their best. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS), and Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Level 1 Certified Golf Fitness Instructor.
Chris earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of South Florida and his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Florida. Over the years, he has worked with athletes of all ages and levels from youth sports to professionals combining manual therapy, movement science, and performance-based training to help clients return stronger than before.
He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists (FAAOMPT) and was honored with the Outstanding Clinical Instructor Award by the Florida Consortium of Clinical Education (FCCE) in 2024. Chris is also passionate about mentorship, serving as a mentor in sports and orthopedic residency and fellowship programs. His abstract, “The Manubrial Test: A Novel Assessment for Regional Interdependence in Adolescent Overhead Athletes: A Case Series,” was selected for poster presentation at the 2018 AAOMPT Conference.
Outside the clinic, Chris is a proud Gator fan who enjoys exploring new food destinations, discovering live music, and sharing good laughs with family and friends.
